This study evaluated the physical capabilities of youth for operating ATVs and compared them to the physical requirements needed for safe ATV use. Extensive fieldwork and simulations were conducted to develop a checklist (in progress) to assist parents, guardians, and employers in determining if a youth can ride an ATV safely. The project is funded by CDC/NIOSH as part of the National Children's Center for Rural and Agricultural Health and Safety (NCCRAHS)’s five-year renewal project.
